Tim & Jess

Wedding Photography at Toorak Uniting Church and Grand Hyatt Melbourne

42 degrees! You couldn't tell from these wedding photographs that Tim and Jess had braved the blistering Melbourne heat to get married. In suits and dresses, their awesome bridal party walked the scorching paths of Melbourne, full of energy and in high spirits for the entire day. Definitely true friends!

The groomsmen and I had the same idea. We each had an eski loaded up with ice and bottles of water - we were all set to get married! After our preparation photos at the bride and groom's homes, it was off to the Toorak Uniting Church. If you've never been there, it's definitely worth considering as a venue for your ceremony as it's large enough to handle hundreds of guests, yet it also caters for the smaller ceremony without feeling lost inside a big church. Stone walls and beautiful stained glass windows form a great backdrop for photos.  But on this day, one feature that stood out, one I never noticed on previous visits to the church, was air conditioning! Tim and Jess were married in comfort, witnessed by their 300 guests and everyone was as cool as a cucumber.

Tim and Jess requested photos at Urban Providere, NGV, the Arts Centre and Carlton Gardens.  While we were at the famous "water wall" at the National Gallery, it was very tempting to jump into it, but we refrained. Instead, I think about 30 tourists took photos of the bride and groom as I posed them behind the wall of water.  The Melbourne Art Centre was fun, as best man Joash tried to throw the bouquet up to Jess as she stood half way up the emergency staircase.  It took a few attempts but she caught it eventually!

Evening came and we headed to the Grand Hyatt for an amazing reception with a fun photobooth and a lot of heartfelt speeches. It was a fitting end to a memorable day.  Congratulations Tim and Jess and well done to your bridal party who had so much love, life and energy and made the day enjoyable for all.
